This Privacy Policy describes how the Upper Meramec Prescribed Burn Association ("UMPBA," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use uppermeramecpba.org (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

Information You Provide
When you contact us, apply for membership, request equipment, submit a burn plan, or register for training or events, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and property or burn-unit information submitted with membership or burn plan forms. This information is currently collected through Google Forms and stored within UMPBA's Google Workspace for Nonprofits account.
Usage Data
Like most websites, we automatically collect information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the Site, used to understand and improve how the Site is used.
Cookies
The Site may use cookies to support basic functionality. Where required by law, non-essential cookies are used only with your consent.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to process membership applications and maintain membership records; coordinate equipment requests, burn assistance, and training participation; communicate with members and the public about burns, training, and Association events; maintain the participation and safety records described in UMPBA's Member Handbook; and respond to inquiries submitted through the Site.
UMPBA does not sell your personal information and does not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may disclose information where required by law, to protect the safety of members or the public, or for legitimate Association recordkeeping — for example, sharing burn participation data with a grant or cost-share program administrator where a member's participation is tied to that program.
Data Retention
We retain membership and participation records for as long as needed to administer the Association and meet the recordkeeping standards described in the Member Handbook, including the minimum five-year retention of burn plans and post-burn reports. [Retention period for general membership/contact records needs Board confirmation before publishing — no standard has been formally adopted yet.]
Your Choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us below. We may need to retain certain records where we have a legal or governance obligation to do so.
Children's Privacy
This Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can remove it.

This Site may link to third-party websites, including the Missouri Department of Conservation, NRCS, and the Missouri Prescribed Fire Council. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites.
